You’ve been in an accident. What do you do now?

Exchange information

You can’t sue someone if you don’t know their name, number, or insurance information. Make sure that they are okay after the accident, then ask for their contact information in case you need to get in touch with them later on. Don’t forget to give them your information, too!

Keep a record of everything

If your car was damaged, take pictures of it.  If their insurance company or lawyer contacted you, take notes during those calls or print out the emails. This information can be the difference between how much compensation you receive, or if you receive any at all.

Remain calm

From the wreck to the courtroom, your emotions can get the best of you. You may want to get personal with the other driver, but that will only make these proceedings more difficult. Remember, I am here to be your voice and advocate, and will do everything I can to protect your rights.
